Meet Julia
My own journey through perimenopause changed the way I saw midlife — and inspired me to help other women realise that getting older doesn’t mean settling for feeling less like yourself.
Hello, I'm Julia
I spent 30 years working in the NHS, but following lockdown, I found that things had changed. At the same time, despite doing what I believed were all the “right” things — eating well, exercising and staying active — my own body wasn’t responding as I expected.
I started to believe the narrative that so many women hear during perimenopause: “This is just what happens now. You’re getting older. Accept it.”
But I wasn’t prepared to accept that.
As a last-ditch attempt to make a change, I invested in an online coach. The results completely changed my perspective. I discovered that significant change was still possible in my late 40s, at a time when I had previously believed it wasn’t.
There was no magic solution. The difference came from having structure and accountability, combined with strength training and nutrition tailored to my stage of life.
More importantly, the transformation wasn’t just physical. It rebuilt my self-belief. I realised that the story I had been telling myself about decline and getting older wasn’t necessarily true.
At the same time, my role in the NHS had changed following COVID, and I began to recognise that I had a powerful combination of skills: 30 years of clinical experience alongside my own personal transformation.
I then gained my PT qualification, filling what I saw as the remaining gap in my expertise, and started my coaching business as a hobby to see what would happen.
Four years later, I have reduced my hours within the NHS and now run my coaching business full-time, with a strong client base built on results, trust and helping women realise what is still possible in midlife.

Experience you Can Trust
My Background
I bring over 30 years of experience within NHS Scotland as a Registered Dietitian, alongside experience in training and coaching leaders.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked with people from a wide range of backgrounds and supported individuals facing complex health challenges. I’ve always loved my work, but COVID and lockdown changed things for me, both professionally and personally.
As a working mum in my 50s experiencing perimenopause myself, I understand the challenges of this stage of life from both a professional and personal perspective. I combine my clinical knowledge and coaching experience with my own lived experience to provide practical, realistic support that helps women make lasting changes and feel their best in midlife.
A Holistic Approach
My Skills
I bring together over 30 years of clinical nutrition expertise from my work in the NHS, with a deep understanding of complex health challenges and the real-world needs of the people I support.
My approach is grounded in evidence rather than quick fixes. I combine my knowledge of nutrition with strength training and fitness, lifestyle and behaviour change coaching, and life coaching and mindset support — particularly focusing on what women need during midlife.
Rather than treating nutrition, exercise and mindset as separate areas, I bring them together alongside accountability and sustainable habit change to create a practical approach that fits into real life.
Most importantly, I combine my professional expertise with my own lived experience. I know what it feels like to struggle, to make changes and to discover that meaningful transformation is still possible in midlife.
